Hailee

Oh, where would I begin when talking about our oldest child? She is a teenager, that should say it all.

She was such a great baby, an easy going toddler who never hit the terrible two's that we always heard other parents complain about. Ha! We laughed at them because clearly, they didn't know how to parent as well as we did. She has always been our good girl, a straight A student, with little to no common sense, a great laugh that can make everyone around her laugh, she is caring, loves animals, enjoys simple things in life.

Then she turned 13! WHO IS THIS GIRL? Where did she come from? This is clearly NOT our Lee Lee. She is still an A student, although, she did get her first C this year on her report card, not bad for 7th grade, I suppose. She is still caring, and over all a good kid, at least for other people. She likes to fight with Hanna, her younger sister. She is attached to her cell phone and flat iron. The hormones...oh, how we can do without those hormones. I tease my husband and tell him that I'm going to leave him...but he has to keep full custody of that girl. The attitude, shocking! It's this "I'm right, don't care what you think" attitude that I heard other parents talking about. You know, the same parents who talked about their kids entering the terrible two's, who clearly did not know how to parent. That's right, they get the last laugh, the joke is on us.

Even with all of that being said, she is still our beautiful, caring, loving oldest child who never complains about doing anything. She does what she has to do and moves on. She is the one who taught me what it really means to love, before her, I had no idea. She is the one who taught me that parenting isn't a one way street and my husband and I aren't the only ones doing the teaching. Hailee is amazing and there isn't one little thing I'd change about my girl.
